Samwise Gamgee

One of my youngest first responders has an unmatched love for LotR. After his trip to New Zealand I really should have seen this coming. He and his friends (all in their 20s) decided to dress up as the fellowship of the ring this past Halloween. Of course, no more than three days before the day, Sam (coincidentally named) comes to me and states that he wants to be Samwise the hobbit. Who needs kids of your own when you've got friends like these . With a quick trip to VV we were able to score a woman's jacket that I sewed into the hooded cloak, the dress pants that I was able to stitch into hobbit pants, a dress shirt which i replaced the buttons on, changed the pockets and sleeves. The satchel was hand made from some leather I had around, and the broach was a VERY last minute craft, being as their order of broaches never arrived. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a reasonable way to en-biggen him in the mid section, so he's a very slim Samwise.
